Good article... thanks, Chick!

I've been using Xfce (the article's author seems unaware that they no longer
capitalize the 'fce' part) full-time for almost a year on my main desktop
machine and like it a lot.

I was a long-time KDE user before Xfce, but KDE4 was a disaster every time I
tried it, even on my fastest PC (which is not my main desktop PC). Of course,
many of you probably heard about the Trinity Desktop Environment project which
"aims to keep the KDE3.5 computing style alive", but I wonder how much
momentum is there and if it's sustainable.

I did make one tweak to the Xfce window manager source code so that it doesn't
(annoyingly) switch window input focus when lowering or raising a window
(which was the only "show-stopper" issue for me when dropping KDE for Xfce).

My desktop PCs are beefy enough to run something "heavier" than Xfce, but I
_much_ prefer "lean and mean" to "flashy and glitzy", so Xfce it is for now,
but LXDE looks interesting too.

Any other Xfce (or LXDE) aficionados out there in GLLUG-land? I'm still on Xfce
4.6.1 (Slackware 13.1) and would be especially interested to hear from anyone
who's experienced 4.8.

Regards,
Bill
