Does it work if you run the executable with wine at the console?
There's probably error output, you just can't see it.  You might need
to set WINEDEBUG to get error output.

It looks like someone has submitted a similar bug to the Wine BZ:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31913

You might want to look at the suggestion there.
