[GLLUG] Debian Dependencies

I try to avoid putting myself in situations where I would need to do it. But yes, if I have gotten myself into that situation, I do use vi. Vi is almost always available (although last week I found a system that didn't even have chi or less) .

Do you actually do this, Clay? I tried it on a random HTML file I had,
and it looked like crap. Granted, I used vim instead of the vim.tiny
that is on the Debian network install system, but with all the tags with
different colors it reminded me of Christmas tree lights. Nothing was
formatted on the page in the manner intended. I neglected to mention
that one of the tutorials has images of screenshots, so I'll want
something that can render those images, like w3m or links2.

vim.tiny does have one useful feature for me. The pager that this
installation comes with is more. I forgot how much more sucks compared
to less. You can't page up, only go forward, and once the end is
reached it exits. When invoked as "view", vim.tiny can at least allow
me to move back and forth through a file, so I can get by without less,
until I need to look at a man page.
