If you are in need of a topic of discussion you could think about
setting up a vps for gllug (to go along with your current website).

You can get a vps from digitalocean foro $5.00 per month. Then you can
set up and test / platy with whatever you want.

Openfire as a gllug private im/chat service for instance. Softether for
a secure vpn. nomachine for remote desktop control. Whatever you want
to try.

You can also turn a vps on / off at any time you want. So you could
turn one on for a meeting discussion and turn if off after the meeting.
That way you only get charged for the time the vps is turned on, a few
pennies per meeting.

You can ask for a few dollars donation from your membership to cover the
cost.
