Hello all, I'm back from my summer travels, I've been
everywhere from Toyko to Buffalo Wyoming, and now I'm
back with more Linux questions.  I have this laptop,
It's a 486 33 with 170 mb and 4 mb, eventually i want
to upgrade it to 1 gb and 20mb, but for right now that
doesn't look good.  I'm thinking of switching over
from 3.1 to linux, what do you all think.  Basically I
wanna do word processing, and connect it eventually to
a windows ethernet lan.  But most importantly, I want
it to be able to do some decent text marking up.  I
don't think x is an option now, and possible ever with
this processor, but how about emacs, what does that
offer as far as text editing.  is Tex only an X
program.  see i really don't know much about linux,
but am interested...it's all so confusing to me.
