Way off topic: NT question

Forgive me for posting this question the the GLLUG list.

I have a user running NT 4 SP 6a and they have an old verion
of shlwapi.dll  (compared to mine).  It is causing a bunch of wierd
error messages on her machine.  I want to simply overwrite the file with
my version, but I cant because it is always "in use".  The drive in
NTFS, so I cant boot to DOS and overwrite it.  

Any suggestions?  (other than install Linux :)
