If anyone is interested I have the Kirk McKusick paper. I actually went
to the presentation that McKusick gave on soft updates at the 1999
USENIX conference. Can't say that I understood most of it.
I have his paper "Journaling versus Soft Updates" from the 2000 UNENIX
conference too.
In fact I have all of the papers presented at the last two years of
UNSENIX conferences. There is some really cool stuff in these papers.
The "best paper" for the Freenix track last year was titled "An
Operating System in Java for the Lego Mindstorms RCX Microcontroller".
I'll bring the papers to the next GLLUG meeting if anyone is interested.
