Howdy,

Whenever I attempt to dial out, I get the following message from pppd:

ATZ
OK
ATDT 3182500
CONNECT 31200/ARQ/V34/LAPM/V42BIS
NAS eastlansing PM335:S07 (EB150:3.8.2c2)

Starting pppd at Sat Mar 17 03:48:54 2001
PPP daemon has died! (exit code = 1)
Disconnecting at Sat Mar 17 03:48:54 2001

/var/log/messages has the following to say about the problem:

Mar 17 03:43:48 blur pppd[706]: pppd 2.3.11 started by root, uid 0
Mar 17 03:43:48 blur pppd[706]: ioctl(PPPIOCGFLAGS): Invalid argument
Mar 17 03:43:48 blur pppd[706]: tcsetattr: Invalid argument
Mar 17 03:43:48 blur pppd[706]: Exit.

It's dialing, it's authenticating, it's dying.. I am running kernel 2.4.2
with support for my internal modem (serial support, character device),
network support, ppp, ppp over async lines.. everything I can think of..
and yet.. AUGH!

Any input, anyone? Please? I'm lost..
