[GLLUG] Removing Lillo changes to MBR

I tried uninstalling Lilo, but it said that it wasn't installed.
I tried to install Lilo, but it complains about a map file.

I have two map files in the /boot folder. A System.map and a System <bunch of numbers>.map . the command ls is also just showing a file called map.

Should one of those be specified in the lilo command?

Also, if I install, then uninstall, will it restore the mbr and boot sectors to how it was before I installed Lilo the first time?

Thanks to all for your replies sofar.
