?  Works fine here, KDE 3.3.2 (Gentoo).  Maybe it's a Slack-specific 
problem.

I don't think there is any option for this.  I think it's supposed to be 
built-in to Konqueror (file manager) and not easily turn-offable.

I think this problem *may* be specific to your specific KDE package.  
I've seen things like this before; Redhat 7.0 for DEC Alpha shipped 
with a @#$%^ing broken Samba.  When that happened, I just recompiled 
Samba from source, but KDE is just a bit more complex than Samba.
