Often, OEM packaging isn't valid for rebates; not always, of course,
but something to be concerned about if you're picking and choosing
your purchases online.

Then again, these days, a lot of rebates are driven thru retailer
SKUs, so that isn't quite as pertinent. But I've run up against this
one in the past, and cost myself some cash when I thought I was saving
more! :)
